This proficiency badge would have been awarded to participants who successfully completed the elementary level of the KentRider Safer Cycling Scheme. These road safety schemes were run by the Kent County Council and catered for children in primary schools.
Additional bars were awarded for this badge as the course participant progressed through their levels of proficiency.
DESCRIPTION:
Size: 1 1/16" x 1 9/32" (27mm x 33mm).
Material(s): Brass metal with one vitreous enamel.
Finish: Bright chrome plated.
Fitting: Pin.
Imprint: None.
Approximate age: 1970's.
CONDITION:
An excellent condition metal and enamel badge. No damage, pin tight and in good working order.
