Very rare opportunity to acquire an original 1966 Calendar issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Easter Rising.

Great historic item, In very good order overall condition for its age. Purchased new by family member way back in 1966 and hung on wall , then was lightly folded for storage, some small tears at top where hanging string cut in, Please see detailed photos for condition.

A remarkable 1916-1966 calendar made to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Easter Rising. Each month is beautifully illustrated and features historical insights on the Rising, Padraig Pearse reading the proclamation, Beggars Bush, the War of Independence, and John F. Kennedy's visit to Arbour Hill. Each date includes a significant historical event that occurred on that day, making it a rich artistic record of Ireland's revolutionary past.

Commemorative calendar for the 50th anniversary of the 1916 Rising. Front cover shows an illustration of Padraic Pearse emerging from and surrounded by flames of fire. Each month has an illustration at the top with a short account of the event in question - these include [Roger] 'Casement at Banna Strand' for January 1966, 'Inside the General Post Office' for April 1966 and 'Prisoners being taken to Kilmainham' for August 1966. Every day on each month details a particular event that took place that day. For example: April 16th 'Liam Mellows arrives in Dublin after escaping from England, 1916.' Back page features a reprint of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic.
