Historic Chribska vase designed by Josef Hospodka from the 1960s
A vase from the Chřibská glassworks, designed by the renowned Czechoslovak designer Josef Hospodka in the 1960s.
Designer: Josef Hospodka (1923–1989), one of the most important artists of Czechoslovak art glass.
Chřibská Glassworks (Sklárna Chřibská), Czechoslovakia.
Hand-formed, multi-layered glass. A technique used here involves enclosing an intense, pink-fuchsia mass of glass within a thick, transparent layer of glass.
An organic, fluid form with a wavy rim, resembling an unfolding flower (often colloquially referred to as a "cat's head" or "tulip" form).
