Handmade Chessboard - Exotic Padauk, Maple with Pieces

I've just put the finishing touches on my newest handmade chessboard, and I'm genuinely thrilled with how it turned out. Paired with a set of large pieces, this board is something you truly need to see in person to appreciate its full beauty.

I've carefully put together contrasting Padauk – that gorgeous vibrant red exotic wood – with classic, light Maple to make a truly stunning playing surface. Each square is cut and assembled by hand, and I've even framed it up with a clean mitred Maple edge for that finished look.

What makes this one really special? It's pure solid hardwood, top to bottom. None of that MDF filler or thin veneer stuff you see on cheaper boards online that often warp or fall apart over time. This is built to last a lifetime. Both sides are fully playable, and if you fancy, I can even engrave notations on one side for you.

Yes, the Padauk makes it a bit of an investment, but trust me, its natural beauty and unique colour are worth it. You're getting a one-of-a-kind board, made with care right here in Co. Kilkenny.

Materials: Padauk (red hardwood), Maple (light coloured hardwood)

Dimensions: Board is 432 x 432mm with 50mm squares. 22mm high.

King height is 105mm with the base of it at 35mm.
