GUILD OF ALL SAINTS SOUTH WIMBLEDON (Diocese of Southwark) - antique bronze membership medal (late 19th century). Scarce.
Postage is extra.
For sale is an antique medal issued by the Diocese of Southwark for the Guild of All Saints church of South Wimbledon. The first All Saints (Church of England) was completed in 1887 as a temporary structure in response to the rapidly growing population of the area. Plans were already in place for a permanent structure pending the availability of sufficient funds. A new red-brick church was completed and consecrated on the 7th May 1892. This church is still there and remains much as it was over a hundred years ago. Guild members would have been active in helping the church of All Saints through involvement in social activities connected with the church, assisting at services and also involved in fund raising events for their church.
