For sale is a scarce membership badge of the exclusive DUN WHINNY GOLF CLUB at Gleneagles in Scotland. This golf club is more commonly known as Gleneagles. This badge shows the club's emblem.

Dun Whinny Golf Club opened in 1936 and is the senior of three courses at Gleneagles in Scotland. Membership to this golf club was by nomination only, exclusive and very restrictive in number of members admitted. In 1982 their Constitution was amended to remove the limit on the number of members admitted. For example, from 1939 Dun Whinny Golf Club's membership limit was raised to 30 and this was raised again in 1950 to 50 members, at which it remained until 1982.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 29/32" diameter (23mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 1 vitreous enamel.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: buttonhole (horse shoe shaped clasp).
Imprint: none.
Approximate age: c.1936 to 1950's.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Pin in working order. Light wear to gilt on highest relief point. Some gilt staining on reverse side.
