German Captured (Beutewaffen) French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet w/ Scabbard
Authentic French Model 1866 Chassepot Yataghan Sword Bayonet with its original steel scabbard from the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871).
This is a textbook "Beutewaffen" (captured and reissued weapon). Originally made in France (Saint-Étienne arsenal "K 47546" serial block), it was captured by German forces who systematically ground off the French spine inscription and added a German depot "8" stamp to the ricasso.
• Blade: Recurved "S" shape with a deep fuller. Spine is historically blank/scrubbed.
• Hilt: Solid brass ribbed grip. Locking button mechanism is present.
• Crossguard: Stamped with clear serial number and hooked quillon.
• Scabbard: Period-correct steel scabbard included.
