The German 1 m Raumbild 36 rangefinder (abbreviated as Em 1 m R 36) was one of the most widely used optical measuring devices in the armed forces of the Third Reich (Wehrmacht) during World War II. It was a stereoscopic rangefinder with a 1-meter base, designed to determine the range of moving targets on the ground and in the air.

Application: Lightweight artillery and anti-aircraft (Flak) rangefinder, also used by infantry and motorized units for fire control.
Base: 1 meter (distance between lenses).
Design: Stereoscopic (Raumbild – three-dimensional image), meaning that the operator, looking through two eyepieces, combined the images into a three-dimensional model, allowing for precise distance determination.
Magnification: 6x.
Measuring range: Typically 500 to 10,000 meters.
Weight: Approximately 7–10 kg (without tripod), making it relatively portable.
Production: The main manufacturer was Carl Zeiss A.G. in Jena (manufacturer code "blc"), but it was also manufactured by Askania-Werke A.G. in Berlin ("bxx") and Saalfelder Apparatebau G.m.b.H. in Saalfeld.
