For sale is a large sized enamel badge issued to the Friends of Canterbury Cathedral.

The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral was founded in 1927 by the scholar and poet, Dean George Allen Kennedy Bell and who later became Bishop of Chichester. The ‘Friends’ are volunteers who are involved with the “community and life of Canterbury Cathedral” providing support by encouraging community involvement with the cathedral’s activities and engaging the public in fund raising campaigns for the maintenance of the cathedral and its artefacts.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 1 1/4" diameter (32mm).
Material(s): Brass metal with 2 vitreous enamels.
Finish: Gilt.
Fitting: Pin.
Imprint: VAUGHTONS LTD B'HAM
Approximate age: c.1927 to c.1939

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Enamels intact. Gilt is dulled. Pin in good working order.
