For sale is an enamel badge issued in 1950 to commemorate the 900th anniversary of Exeter Cathedral in Devon. This badge depicts the crossed-keys and sword Arms of Exeter Cathedral, along with the text EP EXON 1950 (episcopali exon). Exon being an older name for Exeter, as in the Diocese of Exon.

The cathedral at Exeter was established in 1050 by the Anglo Saxons and was replaced by the Normans around 1130, rebuilding it in the Romanesque style. During the 13th century, Exeter cathedral was again rebuilt, but in the medieval Gothic style which was prevalent across Europe at that time.

Bruford independent jewellers & silversmiths were established by William Bruford who established his first shop at Eastbourne in 1884. Later in 1899, he established a second shop in Exeter town but which closed in 2014. Bruford's in Eastborne are still trading.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Some minor wear to gilt on high-relief areas, commensurate with age and use. Pin in working order.
