Early Aviation Photo Claude Grahame-White at Torre Abbey Meadows

An incredible piece of aviation history for a collector or historian!

This is an original/early large-format exhibition photograph (31 x 41 cm) capturing a monumental moment in British aviation history. The photo shows engineers and spectators assembling pioneering aviator Claude Grahame-White’s Farman biplane at Torre Abbey Meadows, South Devon, in July 1910.

Grahame-White (Britain's first qualified pilot) brought the aircraft down in separate pieces ("in kit form") to perform spectacular demonstration flights over the Royal Navy fleet during King George V's royal visit.

Framing: Housed in its gorgeous, heavily detailed original Edwardian ornate gold gesso/wooden frame.
