Collection of 1950s 10 inch 78rpm Shellac Records. Classic Jazz, Dance Bands & Popular Music
A collection of original vintage 10-inch 78rpm shellac records, dating mainly from the 1940s–1950s. Most have been individually stored in protective sleeves and are in good to very good condition for their age. Some are not in sleeves but have been stored with plastic seperators, and are in similarly good condition.
The collection includes recordings from a range of well-known artists and labels of the period, including:
Glenn Miller
Ella Fitzgerald
Harry James
Hoagy Carmichael
Gracie Fields
Artie Shaw
Joe Stafford & Frankie Laine
The Beverley Sisters
Edmundo Ros and His Rumba Band
Plus a selection of British dance bands, orchestras, vocal groups, and popular recordings of the era.
Due to their age, none of the records aught to be thrown away. As such, the collection must be purchased as a whole.
Each record includes both sides, with catalogue numbers and original label details visible. They would make an excellent addition for collectors of early jazz, swing, big band, vintage British music, or historical recording formats. A fascinating snapshot of mid-20th century popular music and a great opportunity for collectors, enthusiasts, or anyone interested in vintage sound recordings.
The Collection is broadly in two parts:
- A personal binder with a mostly accurate table of contents;
- Individual records in decent sleeves or seperated with plastic.
