For sale is a stunning, highly collectible mid-century vintage art pottery handled jug (ewer) from the world-famous pottery town of Vallauris, France.

This piece features a magnificent and vibrant hand-applied "Fat Lava" style volcanic drip glaze. The center features a striking, fiery red and orange "volcano eye" surrounded by thick, textured foaming black/grey volcanic elements on a rich glossy brown background.

Origin: Vallauris, France (Mid-Century Modern, circa 1960s)

Markings: Authentically hand-signed "VALLAURIS" incised directly into the clay under the glaze on the base.
