Butlin 1967 Beavers Club Membership Badge

This badge was issued by Butlin's holiday camps as part of a membership pack to children who enrolled in their Butlin Beavers Club. This club was for children aged from 3 to 8 years and there were other Butlin clubs for older children such as the 913 Club for those aged 9 to 13 years and the 15 Club for those aged 14 and 15. The club’s slogan was "Be as eager as a Beaver", hence the club’s name.

The first Butlin’s Beaver Club was set up in 1951 and members were looked after and entertainmed by the honorary Aunty and Uncle Redcoats. By all accounts the Beaver Clubs were extremely popular with the young guests and by 1962, over 200,000 young Beavers had been enrolled nationwide. The Beaver Clubs ended in 1968.

Beaver Clubs badges were issued annually from 1963 until 1968, with each year having its own distinct design.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. Pin tight and in good working order. There is a small manufacturing imperfection in the red enamel paint, bottom edge, beneath the first B
