Brooklands Programme for Saturday May 7th, 1938.
This was the International Trophy Motor Race event.
The programme has 40 pages.
These consist 4 cover sides and 36 numbered pages.
Printed on semi-gloss paper, with the cover in card.
Each page is 5.5” wide x 8.5” long (14cm x 21.5cm).
The programme is fully intact, well-preserved and in good condition.
It is fully illustrated with photos, maps, tables and adverts.
The covers (back and front) have iconic pictures.
Page 24 includes an autograph (in pencil) by and beside photo of Billy Cotton.
Billy Cotton was both an avid racing driver and a very popular dance-band leader in Britain,
and his BBC radio programme had the famous ‘Wakey Wakey’ band-call intro.
If you don’t know of Billy Cotton, Wikipedia will enlighten you about him (and his family).
Page 32 includes a number of race participant autographs (in pencil) beside photos.
The programme captures the excitement of the period.
The autographs very much enhance its interest and value.
Also, still attached is an unused Pre-paid postcard for Junior Car Club membership.
Seller has had this over 50 years and now wants a good home to pass it on to.
