For sale is a vintage EXHIBITOR's badge for one of the BRITISH FURNITURE MANUFACTURERS (BFM) annual trade shows. In 2024, the BFM changed their name to the British Furniture Association (BFA) but their committment to the British furniture industry remains unchanged. The design of this badge shows four leaf sprigs representing four types of tree whose wood was widely used in the manufacture of furniture at the time.

The BFM was established in 1947 to represent the interests of the British furniture manufacturing industry as well as manufacturers of furniture components. Although the BFM used to organise trade exhibitions, these days they serve more in an advisory capacity as well as advocating on behalf of the industry. Membership of the BFA is open to all those in furniture manufacturing within the UK, furniture related industries and retailers of British-made furniture.

Size: about 3/4" x 3/4" (19mm x 19mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 2 enamels.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: pin.
Imprint: THOMAS FATTORINI LTD REGENT ST. BRIMINGHAM (this imprint in use between 1933 and 1961)
Approximate age: 1950s

CONDITION:
Excellent condition. No damage. Very minor wear to gilt plating on the front side, commensurate with age and use.
