This brass candle holder is an elegant piece. The base is round and sturdy, while the central shaft takes the shape of the Lübeck Eagle--a double-headed eagle with outstretched wings, a centuries-old city coat of arms and a symbol of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. The wings are detailed, and in the center of the eagle is a small coat of arms. The candle holder has a round bowl at the top to hold a candle.
The labels "Glaser Lübeck" and "Sauer" on the bottom indicate a store in Lübeck. Sauer Ambiente is a designer furniture store in Germany that often sells traditional handicrafts.
