For sale is a scarce and fine-quality Friends' membership badge issued by the BLUE CROSS of the UK and Ireland. Friends of the Blue Cross would have been volunteers who helped the Blue Cross and especially on their fund-raising days.

The Irish Blue Cross was established in 1945 and that of the UK in 1897 as “Our Dumb Friends League”. Nowadays, the Blue Cross operate animal hospitals, mobile clinics and help re-homing unwanted pets.

Size: about 1 1/8" diameter (28mm).
Material(s): diecast metal alloy with 2 vitreous enamels.
Finish: tin plated.

Approximate age: 1970's to around mid-1980's.
