Antoine Watteau Framed Prints Love in the Country Cythera Pair Vintage

Matching pair of vintage framed art reproductions after works by renowned French Rococo painter Jean-Antoine Watteau, 1684–1721.

The pair comprises:

Love in the Country, also known as Peaceful Love, originally painted circa 1718–1719
The Embarkation for the Island of Cythera, one of Watteau’s best-known fête galante compositions

Each print has an identifying title and artist plaque beneath the image and is presented behind glass with a dark green mount, gold-coloured inner border and matching gilt-effect frame.

These appear to be later decorative reproductions rather than original antique engravings or paintings. No publisher, edition number or production date is currently visible.

Used vintage condition with general wear, dust and marks to the glass, mounts and frames. Please inspect the photographs carefully. Sold together as one matching pair.
