Beautiful Victorian Rocking Chair - original springs - no squeaks - mahogany or other hard wood such as cherry, carved to look like bamboo when all things Far East were in vogue - circa 1890 - 1910 - would look very at home in a
sitting room, in front of a warm stove or in a nursery. Modern plain fabric could be replaced with a rich tapestry or damask, perhaps. Very comfortable. It is stationary, on a platform and was designed not to damage the wooden floors or move whilst being used. Front legs have casters so it’s very easy to move about a room. Interesting piece.
