Authentic antique French wooden travelling chest dating from approximately 1890–1910.

A wonderful untouched piece with plenty of original character, including its iron hardware, original paper-lined interior and surviving travel labels. The inside retains a Paris retailer’s label referencing 103 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, while the exterior still has part of a Grand Hotel Marseille luggage label, giving it genuine travel provenance.

The chest has a lovely aged patina and would make a fantastic coffee table, blanket box, display piece or period storage chest.
