Selling a genuine antique XIX Century officers saber.

92 cm in total length, features a brass guard beautifully decorated with floral designs, a horn grip and an 77 cm, slightly curved steel blade with a single cutting edge.
the spine of the blade is inscripted with the place and date of manufacture (Chatellerault Feb 1873), and there's also two controllers marks visible on the base of the blade

The sword holds strong and there's no play or movement between the blade and the guard/grip.

the blade is in very good conditions, with a lovely genuine antique patina but no rust, pitting or chipping on the cutting edge.

Comes in its original steel scabbard, also in a very good conditions with a lovely patina but no rust, pitting or other damage.

Great item /gift idea for anyone with an interest in miliataria, or anybody looking for an intereting and unusual decoration

Sounds good but the grip wire is missing unfortunately. I'd be happy to come have a look whenever possible.

@Stickman92 it's not been blunted out intentionally, but it's not service sharp either as its probably been over 100 years since it was last sharpened - but you can see the sharpening marks on the cutting edge

@Stickman92 yes there's controllers stamps at the base of the blade and the scabbard has some units markings, (but no matching number on the guard)
