U.S. Army 9-51 Lensatic Compass manufactured by Superior Magneto Corp.

Made by Superior Magneto Corporation, located in Long Island City (L.I. City), New York, These compasses were produced for the U.S. Army during World War II, with some specifically made for the Corps of Engineers.
The compass features a blackened copper body, a dial with radium-painted letters for luminescence, a tempered glass crystal, sighting slots with a center wire, a pop-up magnified lens for reading the dial, and a brass bezel ring.
