Antique World war 1 German trench art letter opener
A fantastic First World War German Army trench art letter opener fashioned from a shell/ shrapnel fragment.
The knife has a long slim bronze blade. The handle has been left in crude shrapnel form.
Trench art was created by soldiers during the periods of quiet in the trenches.
The piece has a total length of 8.1/8 inches (20.6 cm). It weighs 50g.
Good antique condition. Minor rust marks on the handle and some tarnishing to the blade.
