Antique W&T Avery Cast Iron Shop Scales
A large and heavy W&T Avery Ltd counter balance shop scales. Manufactured in Birmingham, England, this late Victorian / Edwardian era set (c. 1890–1920) is a brilliant piece of British industrial history. Stamped with the Imperial Crown and local inspector code.
A handmade sheet-metal scoop pan tailored to fit the left cradle arm. Two matching, solid cast iron Avery 4lb "puck" weights.
Mechanically functional and incredibly sturdy. The heavy iron casting is sound. The sheet-metal pan shows typical wear. Cleaned and sealed. See pictures for condition.
