An unusual and decorative late Victorian / early 20th-century glass frigger sword, complete with its original oak display plaque and brass retaining loops.

Friggers (also known as glass whimsies or end-of-day pieces) were handcrafted by skilled glassworkers using molten glass remaining at the end of the working day. They were made to demonstrate craftsmanship rather than for practical use, and no two examples are exactly alike.
