Antique Majolica Holy water font
A large truly wonderful majolica Holy water font with Joseph of Arimathea and the Christ child on his shoulder, An amazing and unique piece.
Beautifully made and heavy, I am quite sure by a well known artist. There is a signature on the back which is faded due to age and I cant make it out. Shades of turquoise, royal blue and antique white. The pottery base colour is a rich terracotta so possibly french. A future family heirloom.
In very good general condition. Bit of crazing and few tiny spots of loss of glazing due to age.
