Antique Kodak Kerosene Darkroom Safelight Lamp with Leather Case
Unusual early Kodak photographic darkroom lamp, believed to date from approximately the late 1890s to the 1910s.
These oil or kerosene lamps provided filtered illumination for developing photographs before electric darkroom lighting became widely available.
Features include:
• Metal lantern body
• Glass viewing panels
• Oil or kerosene burner mechanism
• Ventilated chimney
• Kodak-branded leather carrying case
The lamp is in unrestored antique condition with rust, tarnishing, surface wear and marks throughout. The leather case is heavily aged, with wear, cracking and damage to the carrying strap.
The lamp has not been fuelled or tested. Completeness is unknown, and only the components shown in the photographs are included. It is being sold as a historical photographic collectible or display piece rather than for immediate use.
