Antique Japanese music box with jewelry box from the 1960s.
A Japanese retro box with a music box and a dancing ballerina, most often from the 1950s or 1960s. These classic wooden boxes were extremely popular souvenirs and dressing table accessories in the post-war period.
When the lid is opened, the wind-up music box activates a rotating ballerina figurine mounted on a metal arm.
Behind the figurine is a distinctive, three-part mirror (often faceted), which multiplies the reflection of the dancing figure.
