High Relief Bronze with Birds & Blossoms – Japan circa 1890–1910

A beautiful and authentic Japanese bronze vase dating to the Meiji Period (c.1890–1910), featuring exceptional high-relief decoration of birds perched among flowering branches in the traditional Kachō-ga (Birds and Flowers) style.

The vase displays the rich dark chocolate patina collectors look for and has remained unpolished, preserving its original antique finish. The quality of the casting is evident in the deeply undercut birds and finely modelled floral decoration, characteristics associated with the finest Japanese export bronzes produced during the late 19th century.

The base carries an impressed circular Japanese maker’s seal. While the exact workshop has yet to be definitively identified, the mark is consistent with Meiji-period export bronzes from renowned Kyoto workshops.
