Antique French Carraige Lantern
Authentic turn-of-the-century French horse-drawn carriage candle lantern. Circa 1890–1910.The interior handle tube still contains the original mechanical, spring-loaded candle-advance system designed to keep a burning candle level with the lens.
The front convex "bullseye" lens is missing, leaving the front rim open. The original bevelled side glass viewing window is intact and in great shape.
Repurposed around the mid century as a Railway/Industrial light. Still has the red lead paint that's been preserved and sealed. Not without its knocks and bumps but a very decorative and usable antique piece. See pictures for condition.
