Antique crystal and silver ashtray
Rare antique Jungendstil cigar ashtray made by Theodore Müller from Germany circa 1900.
Theodore Muller was the appointed jeweler to the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Germany. He also worked with the famous Henry Clemens van de Velde. His works are highly collectable.
This early 20th century crystal ashtray is a nice example of the Art Nouveau pieces done by this jeweler.
Ashtray is made of heavy crystal with 800 solid silver around the rim backstamped. A beautiful piece.
The photo has a yellowish tinge as the crystal is so dense and heavy.
There are some tiny chips on the crystal part and small dents on the silver part. The cigarette holder is a little dented. All acceptable for items of this age.
Measurements:
Height 2.1/4 inches - 5.7 cm
Diameter 4 inches - 10 cm
There is some tarnish to the silver which should remove easily if wanted, however some folks like the more aged look and so I will leave it up to yourself.
