Antique Brass Horse Head on Short Polished Wood Baton
12 inches tall including horse's head.
An interesting and handsome small piece - although somewhat of a conundrum as to what it is exactly or what its function was. It looks something like the top part of an antique wooden walking cane - however the horse's ears would not make it comfortable to hold AND the wooden "stick"/holder is finished at the bottom, so it does not look like it was part of something else.
A decorative baton of some sort? The wooden stick part appears to be hollow within (a small round hole at base).
I can not establish its vintage, although it came from someone in their 90s who most likely inherited it from a previous generation at least.
