Antique Blue Willow transferware side plate,
Antique Minton Blue Willow Side Plate - Late 19th C. Transferware - Incised Mark
Antique Blue Willow transferware side plate, reliably attributed to the historic English pottery Minton.
This piece features the rare, highly collectible "Mosquito / Dagger" geometric border variation (open squares with central dots) instead of the standard standard geometric border design. The transfer print remains exceptionally crisp, clean, and bright, with none of the blue glaze bleeding or blurring typical of cheaper reproductions.
England (Staffordshire district)
Late Victorian / Early 20th Century (Circa 1870–1920)
Features an authentic, hand-stamped incised capital letter "M" on the smooth underside blank.
The front of the plate is in beautiful cosmetic condition with vibrant blue coloring and a smooth glaze. The back shows smooth modern-era kiln firing support surfaces (no rough stilt marks). There are two minor glaze nicks on the reverse rim where a tight vintage wire spring hanger rested over time; these are completely hidden from the front view and do not impact structural integrity.
