A fine, original mid-19th-century single-shot percussion target pistol of European origin, signed "TROT" on the lockplate in elegant flowing cursive script.
19th-century target pistol featuring Continental European design characteristics (French/Belgian style).
Octagonal steel barrel fitted with fixed target sights.
Single set-trigger with rear micro-adjustment screw and scroll hammer action.
Dark hardwood stock with fine hand-carved micro-checkering (pineapple/fluted pattern).
Octagonal metal buttcap featuring an intricately engraved monogram inlay ("TM").
Complete with tipped wooden loading ramrod.
Approx. 13.5 inches total length.
Excellent antique condition with deep overall patina. Very strong mechanism. Clean structural lines throughout with no missing screws and no glue repairs. The nipple area exhibits period maintenance/refinement typical of functional target firearms from this era.
