A possible impending house move has forced me into evaluating all the contents of my attic and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go!
I have quite the selection of collectable tins of all shapes and sizes which I have collected over the years and used and displayed, but I have too much for my current needs so I have a few that must go!
For sale here is an Amazing Large Oval Amish Patterned Tin Picnic Box with Handles, Very Rare to Find in Ireland - Funky Picnic Time! Props for Stage and Screen!
This is really special, and I have had it in my collection for some time, but it’s time for a new owner.
This was originally for use as a picnic tin or a sewing box, or for any type of storage really. It dates to the 1950’s or earlier so has quite some age to it.
Size-wise, this large oval tin stands 7 inches/18 cm tall (without handles) and is 11 inches/28 cm long by 8.25 inches/21 cm wide.
Condition-wise it has degrees of tarnish, patina, rust spots, fading, scuffs and scratches as would be expected of a tin of this age. The background colour of this would have been red, but it has now faded to orangy/yellow which can be seen in the photos. The colour is still very bright though, and all the other colours haven’t faded at all. If I was using this as a picnic tin, I would have food packed in other containers inside, due to the age and patina of the tin. Please see the photos as they form part of the condition report.
This would be fabulous for display and/or use, for special picnics/photo shoots or as a prop for stage or screen.
Perfect for a display of funky shabby chic kitchenalia, in a cafe, pub, or home setting!
I have a number of tins for sale, and I am listing them separately, so keep an eye out!
I am also willing to sell as a job lot, where overall, the tins would be cheaper, so please see my ad for all five tins together!
