1954 F1 Training Grenade (deactivated!)
A very old army training grenade that has been safely deactivated. It is an F1 grenade, a very common design used by soviet / Warsaw Pact countries around the time this was made. It is still used today, but mostly by insurgent groups in the middle east.
This one is stamped 1954 at the base. Stamped also is "TRENING" which shows this grenade is Polish military in origin. Numerous factory and batch stamps are seen on the spoon. Painted black to show it is to be used for training (ordinary grenades were commonly green or brown). It is in great condition, showing only surface wear and no structural damage.
This is only one of few in the country. An excellent display and conversation piece.
