This piece features an intricate cross-stitched moral verse popular in the early 19th century, framed by detailed floral borders and classic period motifs.
The Verse Reads: > "Virtue’s the chiefest beauty of the mind, / The noblest ornament of human kind; / Virtue’s our safeguard and our guiding star, / That stirs up reason when our senses err."
Motifs: Features central flower vases, symmetrical floral bouquets, small birds, and two highly detailed peacocks/birds flanking the maker's signature at the base.
