A beautiful vintage Chokin Japanese Ginger Lidded Jar.

Depicting an ornate pair of peacocks surrounded by a floral pattern.

Sticker on the base of the jar states:
Metal engravings from Japan are created by the ancient art of Chokin. Gilded with gold and silver, the engravings were originally created to decorate the armament of the SAMURAI warriors.

24k gold edged.

Made in Japan.
