This is Plate No. 1 from the sought-after series „Le Folklore du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg” (The Folklore of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), featuring a vibrant and detailed artwork by the renowned Luxembourgish artist Charles Bech.
The scene depicts „La Procession Dansante d'Echternach” (The Dancing Procession at Echternach), a famous medieval religious procession held annually on Whit Tuesday, which is recognized as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage. The back of the plate features a detailed historical text about this tradition in French, English, and German.
