This is a very old statue of the Irish saint Oliver Plunkett.
He was the primate of Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh.
He was executed in 1681 in the reign of Charles II, during the Penal Law era.
He was beatified in 1920 and canonised in 1975 by Pope Paul VI.
Collect in Kilkenny.
