Rare Mid Century Walter Bosse Terrier dog Candle Holder
Extremely rare and hard to find candle holder in the form of a terrier dog, designed by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller, Austria, in the early 1950's.
This delightful dog figurine was intended to be used as a candle holder but can be used as a ring holder or pipe holder.
Whilst most of the creature's features are polished to a golden shine, the dog's main body is black.
Walter Bosse is best known for his playful 'black-golden' line of patinated brass animals. Early examples, like this, are revered for their quality of design and manufacture.
This figurine is in good condition with age related patina. Weighs 136 grams. Stamped Baller, Austria on the base.
