Mid Century Walter Bosse Cat Candle Holder

Beautiful mid century candle holder in the form of a cat, designed by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller, Austria, in the early 1950's.

This delightful cat figurine was intended to be used as a candle holder but can be used as a ring holder or pipe holder. Comes with the original candle as well.

Whilst most of the creature's features are polished to a golden shine, the cat's main body is black.

Walter Bosse is best known for his playful 'black-golden' line of patinated brass animals. Early examples, like this, are revered for their quality of design and manufacture.

This figurine is in good condition with age related patina. Weighs 176 grams.
