Large Vintage Murano Style Hand Blown Art Glass Gourd. 28cm

Beautiful large vintage hand-blown art glass gourd/pumpkin, approximately 28cm tall.

A particularly striking piece with a heavily mottled cream, ivory and warm honey/amber glass body, deeply lobed form and an applied bright green glass trailing tendril around the top.

The glass contains dense cream/ivory frit-like inclusions within the body, producing a wonderfully textured appearance while retaining a smooth glossy exterior. The underside shows clear evidence of the hand-working/blowing process.

The form and decorative treatment are strongly reminiscent of 20th-century Italian/Murano decorative glass, although the piece is unsigned and I am therefore selling it as Murano-style / attributed Italian art glass rather than claiming a confirmed factory.

A substantial decorative piece at around 28cm tall and much larger than many of the small glass fruit and gourd ornaments commonly encountered.
