A truly stunning and very rare antique collectible, this Italian Florentine (Firenze) wooden jewellery casket/trinket box dates from the late 19th to early 20th century and is a beautiful example of traditional Florentine craftsmanship.

The box features an intricate hand-painted central panel depicting a classical scene inspired by the biblical story of King Ahab, surrounded by a richly detailed raised textured frame with gold gilding and an attractive aged metallic patina.
