For sale is an antique and finely made bronze sculpture of a Japanese peasant filling his smoking pipe (kiseru) and leans on his hoe as he takes a break from tilling the ground. This bronze is in very good condition with no damage and has a lovely overall patina acquired with age. There is a maker's seal on the base but this is partially obsecured by the hoe.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 12 1/4" height x 4 1/4" across at the base (312mm x 108mm).
Material(s): cast bronze.
Finish: n/a, but has a lovely patina all over acquired with age.
Weight (excuding transit packaging): about 2.52kg
Imprint: none, but there is a maker's seal.
Approximate age: Meiji era (1868 to 1912).
CONDITION:
Excellent condition for its age. No damage. Lovely even patina all over.
