100 Shilling Note (Kenya)
This 100 Shillings banknote was officially issued by the Central Bank of Kenya (Banki Kuu ya Kenya) on July 1, 1990. Circulated during a defining period of East African history, this vintage paper currency is no longer in production and serves as a classic piece of numismatic history.
Front Design: Features a prominent portrait of Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, Kenya's second and longest-serving president. Next to his portrait is the official Kenyan Coat of Arms—depicting two lions holding spears and a traditional shield—and a delicate pink rose emblem on the left border.
Back Design: Features Nairobi's iconic Nyayo Monument which was built to commemorate 25 years of Kenyan independence, set a againstbackdrop of Mount Kenya
The note reads "Shilingi Mia Moja" in Kiswahili, which translates to "One Hundred Shillings."
