This book is of special interest to me as there is a family connection with Dan Mulville and I already have my copy but bought this for a friend. Dan writes an amusing account of his journey with a Dutch companion in a yacht from the Canaries to the Carribean islands, hoping beyond hope for the elusive trade winds to help them across. He had sailing in his blood (actually a descendant of Captain Blood!) and was a fearless sailor but some of the incidents in his book makes one wonder how much preparation went into this journey. Dan's brother Frank Mulville was the author of many sailing books beloved by sailors for years. I'm sure Dan's 'Trade Winds and Turtles' would appeal to sailors and non sailors alike who should find Dan's endearing style an uplifting read. Sadly this book is not now easy to find as far as I know.
