Rare 1954 World of Music Book - Teak Wood & Leather Binding - Vintage Carl Zeiss

A gorgeous, heavy-set mid-century piece of history. This is the 1954 first edition of The World of Music, famous for its unique binding featuring genuine teak-coloured wood boards half-bound with a gilt-decorated leather spine. Printed in Norway (2,239 pages).
This particular copy is a beautiful time capsule with unique provenance:
• The Inscription: Personally inscribed on the first page by its original owner, "Hilda Saul 1954".
• Bonus Vintage Ephemera: Tucked inside is a rare, original Carl Zeiss satin bookmark, stamped on the back from the historic "Kenneth Bird, Optician, 228 Chingford Mount Road, Chingford E4" shop.
• Condition: The book's wood boards and leather binding are intact and look fantastic on display. The interior pages are clean. The original clear plastic protective slipcase is included but is torn along the front and back top half, which is very common for its age.
