Original quarter maroon leather with decorated cloth portraying gilt ribbed bands and decorated titles on the spine. 210 very clean and bright pages, illustrated throughout by George Scharf, decorated edges all round, front cover and endpaper loose from binding as shown in images, the text block, spine and rear cover are not affected, mild speckled foxing on the endpapers. Covers slightly rubbed with time, bumped on the corners and chipped on the spine tip consistent with age. Overall a well preserved very scarce edition. (GT480)
